In the summer of 2015 while driving through the country-side in the warm, tropical atmospheres of western Jamaica, a group of friends, brought together by their Christian faith, listened as gospel artiste Jermaine Edwards blasted on the radio:
‘I wanna feed the poor, the widows and the orphans;
Be a light in the middle of the darkness
So they see my good works and glorify God in heaven’.
Without hesitation, LeoNell Teape led a soul-stirring discussion and with little deliberation and considerations, all five individuals verbally cemented the mandate penned in Jermaine’s song ‘Heart like Yours’.
Leonell joined hearts and pockets with close friends to feed the surrounding communities of Savanna la Mar, Westmoreland, Jamaica, at their expense. This marked the beginning of a lifelong commitment to making a difference and positive impact in the lives of the underprivileged and vulnerable groups, including children and the elderly.
From then, concentrated efforts have been made to better the lives of the target groups, even with the least of opportunities. The organization has partnered with several schools and geriatric institutions to carry out its function.
